McCombs School of Business...

So, yeah, I am hoping to transfer to UT Austin this Fall semester, preferably getting into the McCombs School of Business. I've talked to a counselor from UT, who has given me the appropriate courses to take before I get to the school. I'm currently attending a community college and have a 4.0 GPA. I'm also a member of Phi Theta Kappa and other organizations of the like. I work at a bank, too, if that helps any in their final decision, and I have a ton of ECs. My question is, do I have a chance of getting in? I've always heard that McCombs is pretty difficult to get into. I sent in my application early January, and now I'm getting a little antsy...

Also, some of my friends are beginning to get their acceptance letters from UT (they have different majors though)... When do you think I should expect to hear a decision? Thanks!!

McCombs hold numbers in high regard, so with a 4.0 GPA you should have a good shot, provided you also did well on your SAT or ACT. However, their admissions are all done on a case-by-case basis, so you never really know for sure. Hope that helps!

Thanks! I’m just so worried about getting in… I mean, I have a back-up plan and everything, but this is like my dream. Guess we won’t know until the decisions come out though :/
