I am applying to Vanderbilt ED2. ACT is 33, SAT is currently 2180 but I plan on retaking in Dec. SATII scores 750 and 730 in us history and molecular biology. GPA 3.92uw and 4.31w. I have taken an extremely rigorous courseload. Every core subject area I took honors and also have taken 13 AP classes, have passed 8 all with 4s and 5s and will be taking the exams for the last 5 this spring. Captain of Varsity tennis, jv volleyball 9/10, and a club volleyball team both 9/10 grade. I also played varsity golf but was not a captain. One year of part time work experience. My volunteering experience includes over 150 hours at a local hospital, tutoring elementary school kids, and have been an active member and historian of Key Club all four years. Vanderbilt is my first choice obviously but if there are any other schools similar to vanderbilt academically and in terms of size I would love some suggestions as it is so selective.
As long as your class rank is good, as well as essays/recs, your chances are solid. EDII can be a weird round though, so it’s hard to have an idea of exactly where the bar is set, and therefore hard to predict chances. I would say that you would fit in well with the applicant pool, but are by no means a lock.
current sop at vandy lol. increase your sat a bit, and you’ll be fine. some people stupid as f*** here anyways, no reason u shouldn’t make it
My DD’s CC says Duke and Vanderbilt are very similar. Kids who like one tend to like the other. Likewise, kids who dislike one tend to dislike the other.
