hopeful essay topic: accepting my homosexuality, overcoming several social-personal battles and depression, finding out who i am.

EC’s seem all over the place to me.

And where the hell do you go school where a 3.3 is top 2%?

But still, i have the same ACT score as you and am trying to go to duke as well. You must get that to atleast to a 31 or 32 to be competitive especially with your GPA

Well, I go to an inner city school with a graduating class of about 500. So, I’m pretty sure I’m in the top 10, hopefully.

Also, my ec’s are linked by the common idea of philanthropy, i guess, i always try to help people with tutoring or fundraising and stuff.

Wait so you dont know what your percentage is…

Because i go to a inner city school with a graduating class of 500 as well and 3.3 wont Land you ANYWHERE near top 10%… Maybe top 30%

well frankly it said top 3% on my transcript, even for the probable valedictorian and everyone else who are prospective top-10ers. And btw, if you don’t want to be helpful at all, please go somewhere else, because I don’t appreciate your attitude.

How do you know you are the future president of those clubs? Have elections occurred already?

yeah, they have.

Im sorry that you dont appreciate my attitude, as i had no meaning of being negative. I was simply asking a question that would better evaluate your chances at these schools.

However, my perspective has changed. You seem like a snobby, childish student who doesnt have any respect for criticism. I hope you figure out that a 3.3 will not get you val. at ANY school or top 3%. Maybe you read wrong, and there was a zero after that 3.

Any who, Good luck to you.

I’m sorry, maybe I was wrong. I might have only glanced over your comment about “where the hell do you go to school where 3.3 is top 2%” or “where 3.3 might be considered top 30%”, considering that there is only one student in the entire junior class with above a 3.5, as being just a bit rude, but apparently I was definitely wrong. You not only have an attitude problem, but you seem like a snobby and childish being who can’t admit that they were a little inappropriate and likes to make rude little comments like “there was a zero after that 3”.

Anyway, thanks for the good luck, you too. If you honestly didn’t mean any negativity, I apologize for my apparent lack of maturity.

How’s your gpa over 5 when you have 4 AP classes? Also how is your rank the top 2% when you have a 3.3 gpa? With a graduating class of 500, the top 2% is about 10 people which I find hard to believe all have a unweighted gpa from 3.2(estimate if you are in the higher of the 2%)-4.0. That range is far too wide in my opinion to be probable. I’m sorry if these questions seem harassing but if this is all true, getting accepted would be quite hard unless you manage to get much better ACT/SAT scores.

Word of advice, Take this thread down or edit it.

You will be flamed. Trust me.

rank in our school is judged from the weighted gpa. Since no one except IB students take any of the ap’s our school has to offer (most of the ap classes are approximately 5 students), and I was the one of the three sophomores last year to take 3, and received a’s in all three, yet I screwed up badly with c’s in other classes like french, my weighted is much higher than my unweighted. As of the third grading period of my junior year, it is 5.1, due to the ib classes that I am required to take, and my counselor, transcript, and report card all stated that I am top 3%. And I understand that my act and sat scores need to be upped in order to be considered.
