I have been waitlisted at The Berkshire School and The Middlesex School. What are my chances of getting in to them now?
This thread might be helpful: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/1300302-the-wait-list.html#latest
Thank you, that was very insightful.
@BunnyHops I know its a tough day for many, but I hope you were actually referring to the amazing gold that is that thread. The advice on that thread has changed peoples’ options and really mattered to some families. It is solid, years tested, excellent advice from caring parents and “in the know” people who kind have explained the best way to handle the situation.
And unfortunately, no one can tell you the odds of you getting off a specific school’s waitlist (read the thread).
I know my chances of acceptence aren’t guaranteed, but I know Berkshire is a lot of people’s backup/safe school.
They know that too and accept more students than they expect to enroll. Nobody can say how “off” they will be.
@BunnyHops - Berkshire is not a safety school for ANYONE.
@gardenstategal is exactly right and to illustrate the point even further:
From last year:
Total students: 400
Applications : 1,125
Newly enrolled: 139
Closing. Refer to the ,master WL thread.
