I'm currently position 49 on the waitlist for math 53 with aroux. I believe I'm third in line for my individual discussion section. How likely am I to be let into this class. I'm nervous because the only other math 53 professor this fall is givental, who I've heard horrid things about. If my chances on getting in off the waitlist are not high ill most likely enroll in math 1b

please help

32% chance

It’s the waitlist of the discussion section that matters, not the overall waitlist on the lecture. As the semester goes on, the math department increases the cap of the discussion to 30 from the current 25. So if you’re within waitlist #5 of the discussion you want to enroll in, then you should be fine.

It also helps that at least 50 people will drop out of Math 53 no matter how good the professor is; just watch once the semester starts.

Can anyone else add to the useful information given by upmagic. Perhaps some anecdotes to ease my mind

Bumpppppppppp

Can someone please confirm UpMagic’s statement?

^ya seriously

This is abdurd

update just switched to a discussion section in which I am second on the waitlist
