To answer your question...Im pretty sure you'll make it into one of these school. As for Afitscher response, what makes you think the way you do about class09 chances at these schools? Are you just randomly guessing or do have some experience through classmates or something?

I disagree, I think you can get into Duke. Duke seems like it's pretty sensitive, that might sound weird but I think you can win them over with some great essays and rec's. A representative from Duke came to my school and explained the admissions process, and she went on and on about some of her favorite essays that she had read and how boyfriend's and girlfriend's write recommendation letters for each other and they both end up at Duke (i'm not sure if they were rec's, maybe some other character reference or something). A girl from my school got into Duke, and she only got 1 B in her whole high school record, I'm not sure about her SAT's, but I consider yours to be very strong. Some others have gotten into Duke from my school, one was a lacrosse player and I'm sure the Duke scandal made it easier for him to get in, when they were lacking in players, and then this super-genius chick also got in. I think you can, too.

I think the ivies are reaches, and so are the UC's because you're OOS, people with 2340's and 4.5's get denied there just because they're OOS, it sucks but it's a state school.

Wash U I think you're in, Georgetown is going to be tough, it's so selective. Emory, Northwestern, and U Chicago I think you have a moderate chance. Michigan, in.

^ Duke is more selective than Georgetown. I disagree with your statements on Duke - it seems more scores-oriented from everything I've read (including on this board).

Edit from my previous post: Oops, sorry - I totally missed the State: NY!

I think you will most likely get into at least one, but I would definitely apply to a safety. Don't risk your college education on admissions officers.

i don't know if my school does unweighted GPA and my courseload has been rigorous since sophomore year since most people come into freshman year will all regular classes. This year I take 3 AP classes and the rest honors and elective.
