I have just finished my first year of college as a Music Education major at the University of North Texas. For my second year, however, I am changing my major and will begin to study Radio, TV, and Film (the closest thing to a Film Major at UNT) for the 2009-2010 year. I'd like to know my chances of transferring into the Film program at NYU-Tisch for the 2010-2011 year.

The thing I am most worried about is my lack of Film experience. When I apply, I will only have studied Film for about a semester. I know NYU is big about using your resources to their fullest potential and I believe I have. I had no Film organizations at my HS to join, and never had enough money to buy a camera or anything. I have made 2 small films, one for a HS class and one for fun. I do know for sure that I have wanted to study Film for the longest time and am finally taking a chance and doing it. I'm just wondering what my chances look like of transferring to Tisch with my current stats and my lack of film experience.

I plan for two small films in my portfolio to be filmed within the next few months.

If you answer, let me know your "sources". (Did you apply? Did you get in? How similar/different was your resume?) Also include any helpful tips about creating the portfolio.

Thanks!!
