What are my chances pleasee...3 ivy and some other nice schools

I go to a highlyyy competitive high school on long island in new york that doesnt give class rankings and always sends a few kids per year to all of the top schools. I applied to Georgetown (EA), Duke (ED), Brown, Penn/Wharton (I know hugee reach), Cornell, Emory, George Washington, Wash in St. Louis and Binghamton.

GPA: 93 unweighted/96+ weighted
class rankings arent provided by the highschool which should be an indication of how much competition there is within the school

Sat I: 740 (CR) 780 (M) 700 (W)
SatII: Chem (720), Bio (720), Math II(760), US (780)

APs: Euro (3), Physics (5), US (5), Calc, Micro, Macro, Bio, Lit, psych
College classes: pre-calc, spanish

ECs:
Student government (class treasurer 9-11, school VP 12)
community service comitee
President Spanish club
National honor society
Spanish honor society
DECA
Baseball (9-10)
Track (11-12)
50 hours of community service including:
HIV/AIDS courses
Peer education about HIV/AIDS
HIV Peer education

National Merit commended

I realize that my EC's arent anything special but I dont think they'll hurt me too much. I know that Wharton is a hugee reach, and brown or cornell would be tough too but Id like the opinion of someone other then my guidance councilor please...thanks in advance!

bumpppppppppp

I think you are definitely in at Binghampton. Cornell is always a hard school to judge; and I don't know much about the others..Sorry

Wow, I'm also applying to Cornell, Penn, Wash U, GW, and Binghamton. See my thread "C'mon people, rip me to shreds" for all my stats. I think you have a good resume, but not a great resume, to be honest. It sounds arrogant, I know. All of the components of your application seem to be good, but nothing stands out that much. I shouldn't be one to speak, however, as I have the same problem and have done few meaningless activities outside of school. Good luck to us both, perhaps I'll see you on the Wharton campus next year (in a perfect world, of course.)

bump again

um.. you have great achievements, but the thing is, everyone has this too! The same SAT scores or higher.. the same ECs.. everything! How are you going to stand out? What makes you special?
Why should you get accepted into Wharton??

hmm i went to a national leadership conference in washington last summer but i dont think thats too prestigious, but my recs discuss in depth my leadership qualities which i guess is the closest thing to a hook that i have.

ooh yeah I got invited to that too. Yeah, it was a rip off. Anything that makes you pay 2000 dollars for is basically a summer camp ripoff.
Also, honestly, a LOT of people have leadership qualities. You really don't have an astonishing hook.
There are so many amazing kids who don't get into Ivy Leagues. Take for example: the valedictorian this year who got a 2400 on her sats, all 5s on her Ap tests, all above 750 on her sat IIs, ran Varsity track and cross country, and was president of the science club.. didn't get into Stanford early.
It's just sad how arbitrary the admissions process is. So I just want you to think about it and limit your schools a little and save some money. But I also encourage you to risk it.
Either way, good luck!

Well, you applied to Duke ED... did you get in? You could check online starting yesterday.

Wait.. you applied EA and ED at the same time?
I didn't know you were allowed to do that!
I thought you could either do one or the other..

noo i made a mistake i didnt apply to duke ED just gtown nd i havent heard yet, idk why i wrote that lol, I had the app ready to send but decided georgetown was where i really wanted to be to get a good mix of political science/international relations/business
