What Are My Chances? Questbridge RD+Others

I am a Questbridge finalist who was not matched, so now I will be applying to Stanford, Penn, Northwestern,Notre Dame ( deferred) , Vanderbilt, Brown, USC, & Yale through QB regular decision. Also applying to Northeastern, UC-Berkeley, LA, SD, Davis, & Cal Poly SLO outside of Questbridge. * Also if anyone is familiar with the service academies, could you chance me for USNA & USMA? I withdrew my applications, but just curious if I had a shot.

Extra Comments: I attend a private school that has extremely demanding religion courses (I have gotten 1 B and a few A-'s). I took the ACT without preparation because working takes most of my time. I take blame for getting a 1 on the Calc exam. In the QB application, I wrote about my military aspirations and talked about the USNA as being my greatest success. Do you think that had/will have a negative impact?

If you have any experiences with Questbridge or the schools I am applying to, share them. I would love to hear about them.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and posting. Any reply would be helpful!

I forgot to finish my senior courses. AP Physics & World Religions.

Why don’t you post over in the Questbridge forum? Only a small percentage get matched but a much higher percent get in RD. But if you only put the most selective top schools then that may be an issue too even if you are QB it doesn’t mean that you can get into any partner school no matter.
<a href=“Questbridge Programs - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/questbridge-programs/

I will tell you that people can’t really tell you your chances. Especially high school people who mostly post in this forum who really have no experience than what they ‘hear’ and nothing they know may apply to you. They likely don’t know how QB finalists do. So take this section of the forum as entertainment only, not as anyone knows anything for real. You know your scores are low end of accepted student admission to your private school list already.Your QB application as well as the Common App for schools that want that too will be read carefully by admissions. Sometimes someone with a lower score will get an acceptance. But that is pretty low and you should be considering some other partners that are a closer match to your stats. Because they will ‘meet need’. Where the UC will also for low Cal Poly doesn’t if you need room and board aid.

But a parent owning a business really complicates calculations for aid and you often have to pay more than you think. They will add back certain deductions etc. How much is your family able to pay a year? I’m just asking because you need some financial safety maybe.

Ok, thanks for the info. I guess I should ask, “If you were an admissions officer, would you accept me to your school?” Even though I attend a private school I will definitely need financial aid. Maybe I should have chosen less selective schools, but I would think that my work experience would play a vital role in my application. And I’m guessing that you have/had a child attend Brown? How was his/her experience there?
