Considering that your SAT score is not even 75 percentile, and you’ve taken no AP or honors classes it seems like I’ve got to say you have little to no chance of receiving an “almost” full scholarship to Temple. It’s not like they’re going to offer something like that to nearly twenty five percent of all their students
really?? shit, but hypothetically if i bring my SATS up and take 2 APS next year ( I was taking 4 this year (i am a junior but i got a concussion and had to drop them) but my guidance counselor said getting A’s in regular classes is even better than B’s in APs
and my accelerated classes sophomore year are honors
also (SORRY FOR SO MANY QUESTIONS) does a great recommendation letter help for scholarships to temple?
thank you for your help!!
Isn’t the criteria 3.8 gpa and 32 ACT or 1420 M&CR SAT for Presidential scholarship (full tuition)? I would prep for the SAT some more and retake, you should be able to raise it, maybe also try ACT. You have to check with Temple to see but I think they just look at academic subjects as far as gpa goes. Also does your school offer honors or AP courses? It might be good to challenge yourself if you can do well in them.
yes they do offer honors ( i took 2 last year) and I was going to take 4 APS this year but i got a concussion and had to drop them, hopefully I can pull my SATS up, and I only think I am going to take one AP senior year because I don’t want it to mess up my GPA ( im so annoyed that recommendation letters dont get you scholarships :((
Temple as far as I know gives out these scholarships guaranteed if you meet the required stats. All you can do is your best and you got a good start, keep practicing for the SAT, ACT. You’re pretty close. Keep up your good grades this year and next. Apply next year and see what happens, you have a good chance. And a good recommendation letter can definitely help your application.
Also look at other schools that give guaranteed full tuition for stats. Check out the link above.
You’ll want to have several affordable options.
No, a B in AP is better than an A in regular. An A in regular is only better than a C in AP.
You’ll need to prepare very very seriously (I recommend an individual tutor and daily lessons for a few months) if you want to get a 2100. Only 2% students ever achieve a 2100, and most students who start with an 1800 get 1900-2000 if they work very hard
Full ride? Meaning Tuition, room and board and fees? No…You have a better chance of getting full tuition if you increase your SATs.
Btw, your GPA is mostly likely going to be used from your freshmen-junior year than fom your senior year. Applications usually go out before most 1st semester grades come out in HS. So keep up that GPA during junior year and senior year.
No I don’t think you’ll get a full ride. That takes all honors/APs with straight As and fantastic test scores and overachieiving in ECs and more. Your stats are great! However I would qualify you for that much of a scholarship. Good luck!
