I am an international student. My ACT is 28. My GPA is 4 ( unweighted). I am a straight A student. I have great Recommendation letters and extracurricular activities. But my problem is the financial aid. I can’t pay more that 3k per year. I saw on the site of the college that they offer few full financial aid to international students. What are my chances to get in and get a good financial aid
I think your ACT will hurt, particularly as an international needing substantial aid.
what about a 29 ? Is it more better?

Did you do some sort of ACT preparation? If so, what sort of preparation and how much?
At this point the best thing that you can do to improve your chances is to improve your ACT score.
with 28, what are my chances ?
Is the math subscore at least a 30? That would help.Internationals generally need to be stronger candidates than the American applicants, but they may make some allowance for less fluency in English if your math subscore is strong.
Did you run the net price calculator on their website to see if 3K is realistic for their financial aid formulas? That is a very low target price for most schools.
I have a 28 ACT score, 34 in maths and a 33 in science. but my English and reading scores are not very good because I am not a native speaker. I have a GPA of 4. My school rank is 1/150. I have a very good ECs and RLs. Also, I have been playing basket ball, volley ball and foot ball for 5 years. I am a national finalist at Physics Olympiad and ISEF competitions. I am interested in the college. What are my chances and how to strengthen my application? I am planning to apply at ED1 this year. If some one has some other universities to suggest rather than Lafayette college please tell me. I want to study engineering. I will need financial aid.
Thanks in advance
What about Bucknell? did u check it? I think u have a good chance at BU but u need to check the social life there and see if u r familiar with this community. u will have a good chance if u r applying ED.
I feel like competing in ISEF (international science and engineering fair) is a major asset. I also know though that Lafayette meets 100% of demonstrated need and is not need blind. That often makes it hard for the college to take on over 60k worth of cost without any help from the government which is the case for international students. The bar for international students is held significantly higher for international students.
You can expect to be accepted from this university.
GPA 4.0
SAT1 score 1370, ENGLISH 640, MATHS 730

Did you get in? Youssef2000
