Finally:
I WILL APPLY EARLY DECISION!!!
p.s. I will do an interview and an overnight stay.

Help me out? Do you think I'd get in? Thanks!!! :)

I think you have a good chance. Colby values extracurriculars as much as academics and you certainly have a great story to tell. Colby’s average SAT Score is a 2100, but being in the top 5% helps a lot. Also, Colby doesn’t accept or deny purely based on scores, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the input!! Greatly appreciated. Colby seems like such a perfect fit for me.
Patepr11- You really think so? I’d be ecstatic if I got in but do you really think it’s that sure of a thing? The thing is, I HAVE worked my butt off in high school, and my high school isn’t good, so hopefully they will see that I’ve taken advantage of all opportunities.

I think this is a bit much. Like I said before, I think it looks more good than bad, but to say that the OP will get in easily is over the top. Colby’s mean SAT is 2100 (700 in each section), which is above the OP’s score. Colby is therefore a great match (and for more reasons than SATs), but certainly not the home-run you make it out to be.

As for Williams and Amherst, I’d say that they would be more reach schools for the OP. They are definitely worth looking at / applying to (although Colby is clearly the best NESCAC ) as they are not completely unrealistic, but they are MUCH harder to get into (as in, among the hardest in the country).

I’m not saying all this to be mean, as I think that the OP sounds like a fantastic applicant, I just want to be realistic.

Patepr- I am actually a junior this year, and everything I gave you for info has all either happened already or has at least a 90 percent chance of happening in the future. I lowered the gpa I gave you just a tad bit because I’m not sure what my gpa will be when I apply, though I’m hoping it will be the same as it is now. I’ll try to keep my straight A average for as long as I can for this year! As far as SAT scores, I’ve given you a score I think I can get based on the results of my PSATs, and I plan on setting my goals high as far as being an AP scholar. And I really do hope that they will see that I’ve taken advantages of the limited opportunities that are available at my high school…it really isn’t good…but they will see that right?

Thinker- I hope you are saying that I can put Colby on my Match list; I have too many reaches and not enough matches ! And I’m struggling with safeties too.

You’ve posted this message multiple times on both the middlebury and colby threads. Please tell us about which one you are serious. I hope you know that per NESCAC/Common Application/moral ethics you are allowed to apply to only one school early decision. Both are great schools and I know for me, personally, they hold two of the top three places on my college list, but it’s not possible to provide feedback without your telling us which one you are considering more seriously. Thank you in advance.

At this point they are both at the top of my list, actually. I am positive that I will apply early decision 1 at one and early decision 2 at the other if I don’t get into my first choice, which again I am not sure about. I posted multiple times a) because my ECs keep changing and b) because I want as much feedback as possible. I had hoped that feedback would be given based on the fact that I am extremely passionate about both schools at this point and am torn about making a decision. I am serious about Midd and Colby, and I have not yet made the decision so please forgive me.
