What are my chances? (UC's)

Hi, my UC gpa scores and SAT scores aren't anything amazing, but I do have quite a bit of EC activities and my counselor said that with a good essay I have a chance at the schools I am applying to. I just wanted to see what you guys think because I am concerned. I am applying to UC's only, and CSUN for backup. I am applying to UCI, UCLA, UCSD, UCB, and UCD.

UC GPA - 3.63
Weighted GPA - (10-12)= 3.83
(9-12) = 3.68
Unweighted GPA - (10-12)= 3.37
(9-12) = 3.39

SAT I = 1880
Math - 660
Writing - 590
Reading - 630

SAT II, Math LVL 2 = 600
SAT II, US history = 620
SAT II, BIO M = 650

EC:
Sports - Basketball for about 10 years (3 yrs JV in highschool and I was captain 3rd year and now I am on varsity)
Tennis for about 5 years, but I stopped playing midway through junior year because school basketball was taking up all my extra time.
I played Varsity soccer over summer (I'm not sure if that counts).

Volunteer - I have done about 200+ hours overall and 150+ at a hospitals recovery room and now I am volunteering in that hospitals telemetry department.

Work - I worked a full time job over summer, I worked one month for 10 hrs a day, but I am not sure this will be concidered a job because even though I did work, my uncle was my boss :-/.

Other:
I have been in NHS (National Honor Society) for 3 years, since sophomore year.
I have been an NHS mentor for 3 years.
I have recieved the Presidential Education Award.
I won the Math Fair in my school my junior year, and have participated in the math/science fair every year.
I am part of the Medical Focus Program in my school. It is a four year program with special requirements from each student who is a part of it and it has a separate application process, along with the general apps, to apply for it.
And I have 22 classes. UC asks for 15 only.
I am also Armenian, but I don't think that falls under a minority because Armenians are considered Caucasian. But their is an Armenian Heritage scholarship for UC's so maybe being Armenian will help?

This is what I have so far....

if you're instate you have a good shot!

Yes I am instate :).

UCI/UCD - match if your ECs are considered heavily.
UCSD/UCLA/UCB - reach

any CSU - match/safety

your sports look really good, but your academic background isn't good at all.

what do you mean his academic background isn't good at all? shut up

Berkeley: reach
UCLA: reach
UCSD: reach
UCI/UCD: slight reach - high match
CSUN: safety

Your GPA is a bit below average, which is what's hurting you the most. Your SAT is at the average.

Do you guys think that I have a shot with a good essay or I'll just need to get lucky for UCLA and UCSD?

bumppp........

bumpp..... again

If youre in state I think ucsd is possible, it has said it admits over 80% of instate applicants.

lol no it doesn't, i don't even think UCM has that kind of admit rate.

It's more like 30-40%

Not according to the UC booklet duck

UCM 96.9% accepted in state
90.2% accepted in state for UCSD

impossible. there's no way they admit 90% of their applicants.

they probably mean that % of applicants are from california

yes, thats what in state means.

90% of californians who applied got in

edit...........

no tahts ELC, im certain

yeah that's probably ELC

although it's kind of weird that UCM would only have a 96% admit rate for ELC. I would expect it to be 100

That most definitely is the ELC admit rate. UCSD admitted about 90% of the ELC students who applied, but only about 40% overall. 90.2% of the total admits were from California.

University of California - Admissions

Yeah go ahead

Arite, so you guys think I have a good shot at UCSD, or I just need to get lucky?
