Hi everyone I’m an Indian Male in TN and I would like to know how competitive I am at NYU.
My stats are :

1420 PSAT
SAT 2’s Scores Pending (Math 2 & Physics)
Full IB Diploma Curriculum (5 HL classes and 1 SL)

I’ve won a few regional awards in Knowledge Bowl/History Bowl/Debate, and qualified for National Geo Olympiad, but no major awards.
Trend: Very Good 9th grade (3.7) , OK 10th Grade, (3.45) Bad 11th Grade (3.3) , Hopefully Very Good 12th Grade (4.0)
School doesn’t have class rank.
My preferred major is Computer Science, but my 2nd choice would be astronomy.
I am a current NYU student who was in a similar place as you with stats that were leSS impressive. My weighted GPA was around 3.6 (I even had one D) and ACT superscore was 33. What I have to mention is the fact that the level of competition varies widely in schools and programs. For example, stern will be harder to get into than Steinhardt (my school haha). Now, if you consider that and decide to apply to a less competitive school, I believe you have a good chance. You should spend a good amount of time on both your common app essay and NYU supplemental. I do have to mention that, for me, my gpa had an upward trend, meaning that my grades improved each year. I also showed dedication in extracurricular activities in music, rather than just doing bunch of irrelevant activities, showing them I actually had passion for it. So little things like these will be your determining factor at this point. But I hope you do hear good news and ask me questions if you have more!
Bio would be in CAS which has acceptance rate around 20%, which in comparison to NYU’s overall acceptance rate, 33%, is pretty low. Yes, it is a competitive school, but don’t get me wrong. Even within the schools, some majors are harder or more competitive. For example, business, applied math, and education is probably the highest ranked majors within NYU and they are all from different schools. So you should look further into it yourself.
I got into Stern with a ~3.6 unweighted and a 2310/2400 SAT. Give a good explanation as to why your grades are so low and you’ll definitely have a chance at admission.
I got into CAS with a 25K scholarship and invited to the Presidential Honors Society with similar scores. I had a 4.2 Weighted GPA and a 34 ACT (35 SuperScore). I think NYU really likes high test scores to bring up the average.
So long as you seem focused and write good essays I think it is definitely possible.
