What are my chances with my disability at these several schools?

So it’s my senior year and I’m looking at colleges. But first let me walk you through those first 3 years of high school. I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome the summer before my freshman year and prior to that I always struggled in school. So I’m diagnosed and I go to public school for those first 3 years and i do abysmal. I have straight D’s and the teachers don’t really know how to teach me. I tried for awhile but my frustration got the best of me and I just gave up.

So now it’s 2015 and my mom decides to get me out of public school and places me in a private academy. Slowly but surely I start adapting to structured learning and my grades do a complete 180. So now I’m in a interesting position. I did really well on my ACT [33 composite] and my GPA continues to go up. The colleges I would like advice on are Dillard, Howard, Morehouse, NYU Tisch, UCLA and USC.

Your GPA is very important. It’s not listed. Your ACT looks good.

You may want to call the schools that are of interest to you and speak to the disabled student services department. They may give you some helpful information to be successful in admissions and in school. The schools you’ve chosen are tough to get into without a disability. They are very large and are competitive. Having a disability with no support will be even tougher.
