BUMP

anyone?

good chances!! i think ur in!

Why'd you apply to Colgate? You could have gotten into so many others. Great ECs, I'm JSA debate club pres. too.
You should've applied to Tufts ED..

Because I liked Colgate more than any other school I visited. Why, where do you think I should've applied?

Yeah, I just think that you have great stats: great sats, good grades/rank, you've had an internship, and great community service. You're definitely going to get into all your schools listed up top. Those look like safeties to me. You should have had a reach.. Princeton, UPenn, Brown?
Ok, I also need advice on creating a business. I have the idea, but where do I go from there? All the legalities really confuse me.

I would have no chance at Princeton/UPenn/ Brown coming from my HS. I don't know my exact rank but I know that with a 4.1 that barely puts me in top 20-25, and we have 3 people from top 10 applying to UPenn early, our valedictorian applying to Brown early, and, while numerous people with far higher GPAs, SATs, and equally good ECs have applied to Princeton, no one has gotten in at least the past 6 years or so.

yeah, definitely in at all you mentioned. liekvenus said, i'm surprisedyou have no real reaches?

You never know what you'll get into. You should have enough confidence (esp from your great stats) to apply. GPA and sats are not all that make an application. If there is no financial issue with the applications, then you should have definitely had a reach.. that is, if you even like any of the colleges. But of course if you really like colgate, then that's great for you. =)
I am POSITIVE you'll get in. tell me the results!

Obviously. Come on, it's Colgate. You're overqualified (but not in a bad way).

Maybe in a bad way! haha
The admissions officers are probably wondering why someone this great would apply.. and they probably think they're his/her safety

Well, it's ED. If it were RD, they could think it's a safety school for him/her, but I think applying ED says enough about his/her intentions.

oh yeah..
forgot about that
:3

geez people, its not like its some crap school. Colgate is an AWESOME school and you should be proud and happy to apply. way to not get caught up in the "name brand" school nonsense- go the school that fits you best. i assure you that you will get just a good of an education and gradschool/job opps there as you would anywhere else.

yeah, but your future depends on what school you go to. You could make 10 grand coming out of colgate.. or 100 grand coming out of wharton.

yeah, or you could be like my friend who graduated from columbia who is making $25,000 right out of college as opposed to my friend who graduated from hobart who is making $90,000 right out of college.
it depends how well you do at that school.
believe it or not, when it comes to the top 50 schools, you're gonna get a good job if you do well in college (in most fields that is).

hell, it doesnt even have to be top 50 schools... i know tons of kids who have gone to SUNY- NYS state schools, and gotten into IVY league medical, law and grad schools.... like the campus, get a high GPA anywhere, youll make the big bucks
