What are my chances?

I'm considering applying to one or more of these;
. Concordia College (Minneosta)
. Dowling College
. Marymount Manhattan College
. Northern Kentucky University
. Pacific University
. Seattle University
. Temple University
. University of La Verne
. University of New Haven
. University of Oregon

I would either be studying Theatre/Performing Arts or Media/Film studies as I'm unsure at the moment.

I'm English, I doubt that will benefit in anyway but still.

I have also got 8 (hopefully soon to be 10) GCSE's at grade C-B, which are English lit and lang, German, Drama, History, ALAN (Adult maths and English), Media (worth 2 GCSE's). I'm retaking my maths this year and hopefully my science the year after.

I'm currently resitting my diploma (last year I got AB and a D but there was a family death which effected me a lot hence the low grade)
This year I'm predicted A's and B's again.

My EC's are;
. Volunteer at my schools Connexions library where I helped pupils find a college that suited them and answered any questions they may have. (2 years)
. I've been doing majorettes for 5 years (nearly 6 years when I apply) 4 (hopefully 5) of which I have been a leader (or an equivalent)
. I'm about to start volunteering at my local soup kitchen
. I was part of a drama class before the group disbanded
. I'm on the student council

I've done more but those are within the past 3 years, before that though I have
. Taken keyboard lessons
. Was a ''bully buddy'' --- in other words helped kids that were getting bullied
. Part of my schools choir
. Taken part in school plays from when I was aged 3-11

I also got most improved in my high school drama class (voted by the pupils)

The schools don't require me to do the SAT/ACT. I know it wouldn't hurt to take them but after taking practice ones I fear I would get a very low score as I am a bad exam taker.

Am I aiming too high? Do I have a chance?

I think that you should be fine for those colleges.

I assume your GPA is in the whereabouts of 3, if GCSEs are representative of American high school coursework.

You have a chance for NKU, Dowling, among others.

No GCSE’s are the leaving exams over here but our A Levels/Diplomas are the equivalent of the US high school leaving certificate
