Okay so I'm a current high school freshman and would like to apply to boarding school for the 2013/2014 school year. The schools I'm thinking of applying to are:

-Tabor Academy
-Verde Valley School
-New Hampton School
-Millbrook School
-Besant Hill School
-Vermont Academy
-Proctor Academy

Anyone been to any of them? I live in CA so visiting them before I apply is not an option, so it's rather hard to get a feel for them.

I'm an A-B student, 96% SSAT, and I've been told I'm a skilled writer (Sans this post, I'm tired;)). Dance is my only extracurricular activity. I know I'd be able to get good recommendations. My big problem is my attendance. It....well...sucks. All of my work is A quality, but my average grade is brought down by my attendance. (Hence the B's) Do schools care about attendance?

So what do you think, will I be able to get in anywhere? Also, what were some of your experiences at boarding school? Any input on my chosen schools would also be greatly appreciated. Oh! What's the difference in acceptance rate for sophomores? Is it harder to get in?

I'd also be applying for financial aid. Does that make a difference?
Thanks for your input!!
