I’m sure you know that because you don’t live in the States, your chances of getting in to one of the top schools in the US are very slim. You have a decent SAT score, but a average of 92% is about a 3.6 gpa. (I am a freshman in high school and my gpa is 3.7). Your extracurriculars are very impressive, so that would stand out on your application. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

@Aisince where/how did you get this info?

I am not that familiar with the Indian grading system either, although I’ve heard that scores above 90% are generally considered very good.

Since she/he is looking a school in the States, ill grade the 92% accordingly to the American system.

92% is a A-.

A+ = 4.0
A = 4.0
A- = 3.6, (it should have been a 3.7 but her average is below 93%)
(this is just a estimate)

I know that each school’s grading system is different, but most schools grade according to this system, including harvard

http://static.fas.harvard.edu/registrar/ugrad_handbook/current/chapter2/GPA.html

And for the SAT, my friend (currently at Brown) told me you should aim for at Least a 2200, which could really boost your chances.

@Aisince that is how Harvard gives GPAs while taking undergraduate courses. We are talking about HS grades/GPA, which varies.

92% is not universally an A- either, and some places do not use +/- modifiers.

I know that school grading system varies, but it shouldn’t make a THAT big difference.

a 92% in senior year just isn’t high.

Are you sure?

However, just as important (or more important) are the OP’s extra-curricular activities, rec letters, and interview (if necessary). I see a lot of breadth in these EC’s, but it’s better to be greatly involved in a few activities than have a long list of 15+ EC activities without any indication of the amount of involvement (such as guitar player, member of debate club).

I’m also a little confused about these Android apps - it’s good to have experience writing your own apps and such, and I encourage you to continue doing so if that’s what you enjoy, but aren’t text-to-speech and doodling apps, etc. already widely available?

Yeah I know that’s why I am making this new app called RAPE FREE INDIA. Rape cases in india have increased by 100%

I would change the name of that app to “RAPE-FREE INDIA”.

^lol I agree 100%. There’s a difference between rape [free India] and rape-free India.
