So please tell me my chances at University of Chicago, Michigan State, University of Michigan, University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign, Northwestern, or Carnegie Mellon

Thanks

well we don't have class rank
and my class size is about 350 or so

but by the information given tell me what colleges are in my reach

by the way I would believe a 3.8 would be in the top 10 to 15% of my class

WHAT!
the average GPA at Uof M is a 3.6 and I believe i have higher
and my SATS arre better than the average studdents

sat of 1980 is kind of low for chicago and northwestern. the only thing that stands out about your ec's is swimming. are you good enough to be recruited?

umm i meant 660 for math and 760 for verbal
so that would bring me up to a 2120.
srry LOL I guess I cannot type

you should be ok, just make sure to write stand out essays

so you think I have a good chance at most of the schools?

geez some of you guys are rough....

you can definently get into those schools the captian of swim team helps alot, id say just put on some more EC's and it would move you up from like a 95% chance to 100% chance

I'd say you're a good shot for all the state schools -- UMich, Mich State and UIUC ... a lock for MSU --, very iffy CMU & NWrn (those , ... and a long, long, long, long shot for UChicago (do you believe in the power of prayer? lol). That said, I'm hearing, from the UM board and elsewhere, b/c UM's closing, this year, a 500-bed dorm for renovaton/upgrade, and apps are up, this is an unusually tough/bad year for Ann Arbor, so you may be iffy with them, as well.

well my brother went to University of Chicago with a 3.5 GPA
so explain that?

Good Shot/In: MSU, Illinois, UMich (apply ASAP nonetheless)

Iffy: CMU

Don't bet on it: Northwestern, Chicago

Good luck.

I think you're definitely in at MSU.

I think if you can raise your SAT scores a tiny bit more, you should be in at UMich (in-state really helps) and Illinois.

CMU, NWestern, and Chicago are all reaches, but not super reaches. Raise that SAT more and you should have a legitimate shot.

OMG I am so happy I got accepted to the University of Chicago
YAY
