Hi I’m a senior from out of state doing regular decision for Northwestern. I was just wondering what my chances are. I personally believe I have very good grades, only got 1 B in high school and ranked in the top 5 percentile. My test scores are also pretty good, SAT is 2200+ and subject tests are close to 800. My only concern are my extracurriculars, I did some clubs in high school, got some awards, had a summer job, played league soccer all 4 years and did community service but nothing is that great or exceptional. Look forward to a reply! Please be honest, Northwestern is only my reach school so I would not be distressed if they rejected me.
I like your upbeat attitude!
You’re grades are great, you’re scores are admirable, and there’s really no way most people here can tell how good your extracurriculars are. You seem like a genuine candidate, and I’d say you’d fare better than the average applicant. You have a great chance, it’s worth applying.
That being said, the RD acceptance rate is around 7%. That’s brutal, so don’t expect an acceptance (that goes for anyone).
Good luck!
