So i have a couple of safety schools but i want to my chance of getting into some of my reach schools: Newhouse in Syracuse, University of Miami, and Villanova University. My GPA is a 3.5 and my SAT score is a 1300. Thank you!
Well to start off, you can’t find out your results with only a GPA Score and an SAT Score. You’ll need your Weighted GPA, ECs, Recommendations, Essays, Class Rank, Rigor of Secondary School Record (AP/IB/Honors…), etc.
But since you mentioned these 2 factors, I’ll mention the most recent averages I found for these 3 institutions (I gathered these information from CollegeData and PrepScholar):
U of Miami:
SAT - 1380
GPA - 3.6
Syracuse:
SAT - 1240
GPA - 3.6
Villanova:
SAT - 1370
GPA - 3.9
So, as you can see, these are the averages. You’re not on the safe side if you’re considering Villanova, but neither Miami nor Syracuse, are safe either. If you’d like to mention the rest of the factors I mentioned above, then I can maybe predict the results.
Well so far I’ve took AP World History, AP European History, and AP United States History, and AP English Language and Composition. I’ve also taken English Honors for two years. I’m a junior now so next year I’m taking AP US Gov, AP Macro economics, AP Literature, AP Enviornmental Science, and AP Calculus AB. I’m very involved with my schools drama club, singing groups, and radio station. Hope this helps!
Also my school does GPA differently, it does it out of 100 instead of out of 4 . So my GPA is really a 90.5 as of end of sophomore year, it can change by the end of this year though. So i think that’s a 3.5 on the 4.0 scale but I’m not positive. Thank you!
