What are my chances?

First with my GPA. I am the IB program at my school and have a weighted 4.82 GPA, I don’t know my unweighted.

Now to my scores. On the SAT I received a 1460 and hope to get up to a 1550 in August.

I have been awarded the “Principal’s List” award every year I have been in high school, and this year received the Georgia Certificate of Merit (given to the top 5% of each class, and my class has about 422 kids and my school is one of the largest in Georgia.)

I am in National Honors Society as well as I am the president of my schools National Science Honors Society which I helped found.

Now my EC, I am an Eagle Scout, and am a youth leader at my church, I also am a “site leader” for a local mission project in which we help repair homes for those who can not afford to for the past few years. I am also a Counselor at a camp that provides camp attendance for inner city children who can not afford it themselves. I have also been apart of my schools Model UN and have been a writer for my schools newspaper for three years. I was also lettered in wrestling my first year of high school.

What are my chances of getting into UChicago

RD, not that great, decent shot if applying ED. Of course that’s based on what happened this year. RD admit rate was 2%, lowest of all schools.

I got in RD (class of 2021) and I have to say, your GPA is about what mine was, your extracurricular are better (could be debatable but yours sound v dope). My SAT was higher, but I doubt it matters as much as having a good essay. I really came through for the unusual essays but I’m sure if you have any great stories from your time as an Eagle Scout or one of your other activities, you’ll be just fine.

Good luck, try to work on the SAT score and you’ll be a pretty ideal applicant
