Hi! I’m going to be applying for colleges this fall and my dream school would be Wharton. I know they are highly selective, but I was just wondering what y’all think my chances would be with my stats.
ACT: 36 (35.5)
Subject Test Scores: Planning to take math and chemistry, expecting an 800 on math (hopefully)
GPA unweighted: 4.00 weighted: 4.3
Total AP/IB classes:
AP US History
AP Language
AP Literature
AP Macro/Micro
AP Chemistry
AP Biology
AP Calc AB
AP Stats
AP Psychology
AP Chinese
IB Business (2 years)
–Some of these are the ones I plan to take senior year–
My school doesn’t rank, but if I were to estimate I’d say top 10%, maybe top 5%?
EC:
Marching Band (4 years and Section Leader)/Player in Wind Ensemble (Highest band)
National Honors Society (3 years and Officer)
Varsity Tennis (4 years and Captain)
HOSA (4 years and Event Captain)-- State Finalist freshman year, Nationals qualifier (2nd place at states) 10th grade year
DECA (1 year but planning to do another year so 2 total)-- Internationals qualifier (1st place in flight at states) 11th grade
Volunteer weekly at my church and have spent two summers as a crew-leader at my church’s Vacation Bible School
Piano Student Achievement Testing (11 years, passed all 10 levels)
Hostess at local restaurant (more for work experience than money)
Standardized testing tutor at a local tutoring business
My biggest worry is that because I realized much later (junior year) that I wanted to go into business since that was when I did take my first business class, I haven’t been able to do much to develop that “spike” that shows my passion for it despite it being something that I really actually enjoy. I’m also Asian American and female, and I have no hooks in terms of legacy, first-generation etc…But yeah thanks for reading through this whole thing haha
