I am currently a sophomore at Oberlin College and I am considering transferring. I am wondering what my chances are Wesleyan, NYU Tisch (which I had previously been accepted to), Haverford, Northwestern or any of the Ivies. I am officially a cinema studies major, but I am attempting to double major in neuroscience and cinema studies.
I have a 3.3 gpa, which consists of mostly B+s and A-s and couple B-s in difficult STEM classes, and a 3.5 in the cinema studies major.
My film resume is really strong and I would like to use that as a way to enhance my application at schools like Wesleyan and Tisch.
-I had a film posted on the Penn State School of Visual Arts Website in Highschool
-I worked for Oberlin Communications as a student filmmaker for almost a year.
-I had an article written about and lauding one of my films last January in a large publication.
-that film was also accepted into an Ohio based film festival
-I did film work and created a video for the Penn State Life Sciences Graduate School Website
-I did a four week workstudy this summer at a notable film and media workshop
-I was also given a Grant for my film related winter term project this year
I’m not sure of the relevance of SAT scores this far into college but I received a 700 CR and a 670 M
My recommendations will most likely be strong.
