Transfer Chances for Tier 1 Schools

I'm going to be a sophomore next year, and I plan to apply as a transfer for fall semester of my junior year. As of now, I plan to apply to Brown, UPenn, Columbia, and Yale. I would apply as either a film/film studies major or sociology major, since those are the disciplines in which I am currently majoring at school.

Presently, I attend Northwestern University and have a 3.82 GPA. I also have a 34 ACT (from high school).

Any chances, information, or help you can offer me would be greatly appreciated!

Will you be applying for FA at B? If so, hopefully you’re aware that they are need-aware for transfer applicants.

Yes, I am aware that they are not need blind for transfers at Brown. While I am applying for aid, I’m still hoping to have a chance getting in. Can anyone offer me predictions for likely admission outcomes? I’m not very sure where I stand in terms of these schools’ transfer pools.

Admission outcomes are really hard to predict at tier 1 schools, especially the “ivies”. But you should have a decent shot if you submit solid recs and essays. Be SPECIFIC on why you want to transfer, and why their school is the right fit for you.
