Yale has always been the University I’ve wanted to go to since i was in 6th grade. But I’ve been doing quite bad and since this is my freshman year would they care about my grades that much? I know I’m going to do better in grade 10 and 11th grade as I am getting a tutor, but would they look back at my grades and not accept me or would they look at how much I have improved.

Yale is a wonderful college. Many students as talented as you apply. Go for it! But, remember to apply for some safety too. Canada has some great schools that are very affordable for Canadian citizens. You should look into those too. Be sure to apply to a financial safety. Best of luck!
Unfortunately, because your academic struggles are wide-spread and not relegated to a single subject, it is unlikely that you will get in, even if your grades get markedly better. Schools of this caliber are looking for any reason to deny you admission, and a poor performance freshman year is more than enough for them to dismiss your application. If you can afford it, apply and they might like an essay describing your lifelong infatuation with Yale, just don’t count on getting it.
