I have a 3.8 GPA and I am nearly a straight-A student. I have done numerous internships and am the head of many clubs at school. I am worried after reading that a 30 is considered low. What are my chances for Annenberg?
USC is about so much more than gpa and test scores. They turned away 3000 applicants in the 99 percentile of scores/grades. Plenty of 4.0 - 4.5 gpa’s aren’t accepted, it is that competitive. Some with lower scores get in. It is holistic, which means it is about the entire application and them building a class they want, which no one on this forum can see no matter how much information is provided. Generally speaking, chance threads are even a bigger waste of time at a school like USC that is so holistic. Apply broadly, find multiple schools you would love to attend and avoid a “dream school” so you don’t end up disappointed at a time that should be very exciting for you. Good luck!
@rjcwxox - the big stat from last year to me was 69% of admitted students were “students of color”. They are very determined to be diverse. As CADREAMIN pointed out - a lot of high scores do not make it in. My two sons were in the 3000 mentioned. Your “story” needs to shine through in the essays. Why do you deserve a spot at USC? How will you provide value to USC now and in the future? If you are answering a version of those questions, IMO you are on the right track.
