what are my chances?

I have been interested in joining the military since I was a child, and started to look into West Point last year (as a freshman). I was just wondering what my chances at West Point were (hypothetically speaking, of course).

9th grade - 4.0 weighted GPA (two honors classes) psat: in the 1700's
10th grade - 3.9 weighted GPA (three honors classes) psat: 2000

extra curricular activities... snowboarding, jsa, asb, y&g (youth & government)

leadership positions... sophomore vice-president, y&g secretary

future leadership positions... junior president, y&g president (potentially)

notes...
1) i am most passionate about asb and snowboarding
2) i have one c on my transcript
3) i attended harvard summer school for a computer science and linguistics course
4) i have taken five community college courses

any help or advice would be very much appreciated

What does jsa and asb stand for?

i am just a freshman, so i am no pro, but here are my opiniions-

i have no idea what jsa + asb satand for so for now i am counting those out-
what is the c in?

okay, your weighted GPA's are really really good (if they are on a 4.0 scale, wich i am assuming they are)

your extra curricular activites look good,

and great job on your leadership positions, they are real importaint on the whole person thing,

i would say that you are doing a great job-it is good that you started thinking about it when you were in 9th grade.
but i only have one thing to add, i would try to do some comunity service-ie.-key club, or any other organazation at your school that helps around where you live, other than that i think you are on the right track keep it up, you are doing great!!

sports? (...besides snowboarding)

asb is basically student council, stated in a 'better-sounding' name :)
and csf is a community service club. im going to join key club next year
i was in it freshman year but chose not to be part of the club this
year. and the c is in chemistry honors :[

i did sports freshman year. no sports this year due to student council
i do realize that sports are huge. i'll try to add a sport to my schedule

thanks so much for the replies

hey, that is great!! okay, then the only thing you could do more is sports! Good Job!!

I suggest Cross Country and maybe swimming. If you go into the military, you'll be running a lot, and swimming is a great all-over body strengthener. Also, review your chemistry. From what my cadet tells me, Chemistry was one of the subjects that some cadets had problems with this past year.

yah, and another reason to go along with cross country and swimning, they help build your endurance

cross country and swimming are the best endurance sports ever. deffinately give them a try.

But mostly CROSS COUNTRY!!! ;)

thank you all for your replies. im pretty sure that i should join the team at my school, but what if i cant because of my schedule? would it be okay to run/swim on my own simply for training?

well, it's good for you, but i am not sure if it would count on your resume.
