What are my Chances?

I a in the 8th grade applying for 9th.

My SSAT scores are:
Verbal-93 percentile
Math-97 percentile
Reading-88 percentile
Total-96 percentile

Math is my thing. I am taking a math course primarily composed of seniors, Math 1050, 1060. It is College Algebra/Trigonometry, a course to prepare you for AP Calculus AB, which I would take as a freshman. I took Honors Algebra 2 through Johns Hopkins CTY and received a B+ on it.

I have all A's in school and have a 4.0 GPA. I am an International Baccalaureate student and I participate actively in community service activities. My other activities include:

Cheer/Tumbling--I do not view this as a life-long sport, but it teaches many life lessons such as teamwork, trusting your peers, being the best you can be, etc.
Bible Study
Rock-Climbing
Recreational Ice-Skating
Cooking Classes
National Junior Honor Society

I also have attended summer camp for the last 4 years where I got to experience:
Tennis
Synchronized Swimming
Competitive Swimming
Diving
Metal Jewelry
Glass Bead-Making
Archery
And Others

The schools I'm Applying to Are:
Phillips Exeter Academy--Currently my 1st Choice
Groton School--Currently my 2nd Choice
Choate Rosemary Hall--Currently my 3rd Choice
Phillips Academy
Deerfield Academy*
St. Paul's School
Hotchkiss
Middlesex

*=I have already been on a campus tour and been interviewed. I feel that all of my interviews have gone remarkably well. I am visiting the others in December.

So...What are my chances?

Your grades and scores are solid, and you seem like an enthusiastic applicant fit for Phillips. Not sure how good you are or what position you have in your EC's, so I won't comment on that. The only thing that seems a bit striking is that you're applying to 8 of some of the top schools in the nation, unless you're doing FA you could consider some schools with higher acceptance rates.

What does doing FA mean?

Financial Aid.

Oh, I forgot to include:
I love theatre, and have been in various plays, most recently The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever, playing the role of Father (an all-female production). I also love to paint, I consider oil painting one of my passions.
I also really enjoy snowboarding, and was on a competition snowboarding team last season.
At boarding school, I would like to participate in volleyball, I have been on a team before but there is no opportunity at this point. I would like to try crew and squash, sports which aren't even considered sports where I live, thus no opportunity.

I am not applying for financial aid. Does that make much of a difference?

Not really, it just supposedly makes more sense. It doesn't really matter that much though, I was more concerned with the fact that you were only applying to the best of literally, the best.

You should've gotten 99% for SSAT math. Though you might think you're good at math now, keep in mind Exeter math is very difficult, filled with stuff you've never seen before.

Exeter - Medium/High
Andover - Medium
Groton - High
Choate - Medium/High
Deerfield - Low/Reject
Hotchkiss - Medium/Low
SPS - Medium
Middlesex - In

PLEASE HELP! :]

Hey. Sorry to interrupt this thread but I'm new at this and couldn't start one myself.
I'm a female sophomore from Georgia applying to Loomis Chaffee for my junior year and I want to know if anyone thinks I have a shot at getting in

Soo, what are my chances?

Academics:
Freshman year:
All normal fresh. courses (one honors course in English though)
All A's this year except for one B in Spanish and Computer Apps. 1st semester
Made Principals list for 2nd semester (All A's. w/ Avg. of 95+)

Sophomore year (so far):
Again, all normal soph. classes (one AP World history course and one Eng. Honors course)
Straight A's so far with a 95 average.

Teacher Recs:
Should be amazing, I get along very well with my teachers and try to participate as much as I can

Extracurriculars:
Debate
Green Club
National Honor Society
French Club
Contributor to literary magazine: Carpe Diem
I did volleyball and cheerleading in 7th and 8th grade

Community service:
I participate in community service year round at basically the same places (Soup kitchens; YMCA; Nicolas house; St. Vincent de Paul; tutoring in English, Basic geometry and Algebra 1.)

SSATs:
Taking them in December or very early January-but based on PSAT's and past taken standardized test I should fall under the 75-85% range

Do SSAT scores really matter that much? You could have a brilliant student who would contribute a lot to classes who got about an 85. Or a kid who over-analyzes the questions because they are way above the test level. Not that I believe I am either of these situations, but doesn't it seem like it should be a defining admissions factor.
But pertaining to my situation...I'm from a very under-represented state. I've got a few kids at my school applying to BS, but I've heard SSAT scores of 42, 64, 68, 72, and 84. Will this help me?

im confused by aznexonian...can u explain ur last post plz? :)

pinkheart23-i don't think SSAT scores matter a lot but if they are really bad or really good, then the school might be influenced by that...but looking at your scores, they are really good! ^.^

Who really cares if they matter or not, just work hard and try your best to get at least a decent percentile, in the end its all going to count, unless if you're the next Michael Phelps in swimming or something the school is still going to look at what you got for the SSAT's.
