<p>I got a 30 on ACT. SAT IIs: Math IIc: 650, Literature: 680, Chemistry: 600. GPA is 3.59. School doesn't rank. I'm bi-ethnic, bi-cultural. Active in band all 4 years, Poetry Club since its beginning, Sci-Fi club all 4 years and President senior year, Environment Club senior year. National French Honor Society inducted sophomore year, French Club 2 years. </p>
<p>Started a pop tab collecting community service 4 years ago, taking tabs to the Houston Ronald McDonald House. Now have 7 schools in 4 districts and 2 states donating tabs. </p>
<p>Participate in Relay for Life and other cancer fundraisers.</p>
<p>Am a 2-time cancer survivor, having gotten it in 8th grade and then again freshman year. Spent much of freshman year in Houston (MD Anderson) and sophomore year out too, missing nearly 25% of school each year. </p>
<p>As you might guess, my essays are on the personal side and focus on the positive effect that cancer had on me. Yes, it really did! Read Lance Armstrong's book It's Not About The Bike, one of my favorites.</p>
<p>I love Cornell, but couldn't apply Early Decision because my older sister will be starting grad school this fall and we don't know where she'll go and how much THAT will cost. </p>
