Class rank 90/495 (18%)
GPA: 93.3 (not completely sure how it converts to 4.0)
SAT: 2050 (710 M, 670 R and W)

First choice of college was business (bad idea) second was liberal arts.

Extracurriculars:
3 years of JV baseball (9th-11th)

Volunteer:
I've worked 5 fundraisers for a local church program, aprox. 15 hours total.

Work Experience:
2 part time jobs. One is a labor job which I've worked from May '07 to present, the other is a management type job which I've worked from may '08 to present. They generally combine for around 25 hours per week.

I've taken 7 AP classes as well as 3 years of Spanish.
My essays were very good and I had an amazing recommendation.

I know it all depends on how many top 10% kids get taken in, but if you had to bet yes/no on if I was to get in (to UT in general, not necessarily business,) what would you say?

You definitely will not get into McCombs, but you may have a shot at Liberal Arts.
Your percentile is not the best, but not bad.
SAT looks good.
The 7 AP tests may look good, but honestly class rank, SAT, essays are all that really matters. I feel that not having ECs looks bad, but having them doesn’t really matter too much.

I’d say 50/50 chance. You definitely have a chance but if you were under 15% I think you would have a better shot. Good luck and let us know how it turns out! Hook 'em!

Your SAT scores are pretty good and I’m sure your essays are also good, but your EC’s do not make you stand out. Getting accepted will totally depend on how many top 10% people UT accepts…it’s really hard to say your chances. Best of luck, though!

You might get in, but you shouldn’t have applied for McCombs, because you’re definitely getting rejected there. Should have gone with Geosciences and Liberal Arts…
