You might want to post this in the What Are My Chances Thread

I’m new to this site and can’t seem to find it, can anyone post a link for that thread?

You spelled “honor roll” as “honor role.” Combine that with low standardized test scores and EC’s not much more than being a good girl scout, I’d say that Amherst, Columbia, Princeton, Berkeley, and Yale, would be mid-to-high reaches with the rest being matches.

Oops, thanks for pointing that out. And thanks for an honest answer!

Try and find some schools that are right below Ivies but still very good schools. I would say that you would have a good shot at those schools  Berkeley actually would be more like a high match considering that you are in state. In my opinion, you should have good chances at USC and UCLA if you are interested

I’ve been to both schools and liked them a lot but I’m not too sure about living in LA. And I know I don’t really have any safety schools but I figure that because of the four percent thing I’ll at least be offered a spot at Davis or one of the other uc’s. I know my SAT is pretty low for these schools, but I’ve only taken it once and I plan on taking the SAT again, and the ACT.

your SATs are in the mid-50 range for all these schools… not sure how that’s low. I’d say you have a chance at all of them, but you’re a relatively average applicant due to having no hook and limited ECs of value.

I really like you EC’s the girls scout shows you are dedicated. I think your schools are mid to high reach. I can’t really judge you on your academics because quite frankly I don’t think they show who you are and what kind of student you are. Anyway I think your an ok applicant nothing spectacular. Chance me back!

The SATs are slightly low for the schools on the list. They aren’t really low at all, actually quite high. But competition at the Ivies is steep and so anything below a 750 is considered a slight blemish. And yes, it seems you have a true passion for helping others as demonstrated by the girl scouts participation and other volunteering. Definitely get into UC schools, and should have a good shot at Berkeley (I’m just not too familiar with their acceptance rates).
