Hi, I'm in high school and am new to college admissions and what certain colleges look for. I was wondering if I could get into: Michigan State University (I live in Michigan), Univeristy of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Purdue University, Penn State, or University Of Chicago with the following:

GPA (unweighted): 3.78
ACT Score: 30
Extracurriculars:
200 Hours as Hospital Volunteer (10,11,12)
Model United Nations (11)
Debate (10,11)
Summer Intern at Michigan State Chemistry Building (summer before 11th)
National Honors Society (11,12)

AP Courses:
AP Calculus AB
AP Calculus BC
AP U.S. History
AP Physics
AP Chemistry

Also, can I get any significant scholarship opportunites if I'm Asian (Pakistani) and my family makes less than 35,000 dollars a year?

Thank you very much.

**Your biggest concern is going to be PAYING for college…

Purdue and Penn State will NOT be affordable. ** They aren’t going to help an out-of-state student pay for their high OOS costs. So, take those off your list.

Being Asian won’t help you scholarship or financial aid-wise. Asians are usually over-represented minorities…so can be a negative, not a help!

Your stats aren’t high enough for merit that would make either OOS school affordable.

Should we assume that your parents can’t pay anything towards your college costs? If they can pay something, how much can they pay each year?

What is your major???

To get merit scholarships for your stats, you’ll need to pick different schools. There are schools that will give you merit for your stats.

To get financial aid, you’ll need to carefully choose schools. MSU and UMich might meet need because I think the state gives aid to low-income students.

UChicago gives aid, but your chances are very low for acceptance……you’re in the bottom 25% - which is not a good place to be. Those are usually special admits…like athletes and URMs

An ACT 30 is equal to a 1340 M+CR SAT and the mid 50 range is 1370-1560

Are you a citizen or green card resident?

Yes I am a citizen
