What are my college matches?

Hey!

I'm a sophomore in a small town in Iowa. I'm wondering what colleges match me. It is important that I go to the best quality of college possible, and that the college I go do doesn't limit my potential.

I'll let you know a little about me, and please tell me what college you think match my needs!

My interest for a major is probably something along the lines of political science or international relations. Therefore, I would like to go to a college that is know for these things. I plan on either going on to Law School or getting a Masters/ Ph.D. in a related field.

Academics:
-4.0
-1770 SAT score as a ninth grader.
-25 ACT score as an eighth grader.
(Of course, these scores need to increase by senior year)
-Taking second AP course this year. (Only allowed to take one per year and they're online.)
-Took AP US Gov. last year and scored a 5 on the exam.
-Taking second college class this semester. (Took first second semester of freshman year) I took American Gov. last year and am taking Intro to Sociology this semester.

Community Involvement:
-Member of a governor-appointed board.
-Member of a local board that promotes local businesses by organizing various events.
-Founded global awareness group in my community. It works to participate in various causes and spread awareness of what's going on around the world.
-President of a high school volunteer group.
-Will apply to a couple other state boards.

EC's:
-Speech (Division I rating freshman year.)
-Math Club
-Sophomore Class Vice President
-Spanish Club
-Future Problem Solvers

I would prefer my college to be in or near a larger city. Though, I'm open to virtually anything!

Let me know what colleges you think fit me! Also, it would be great if you would give me some advice as to how to get in to that college by telling me what else I should be doing.

Thank you for your time and advice.

Best,

It’s incredibly hard for me to give you a college as a sophomore! You seem really high-achieving and intelligent, though…this is not what you wanted, but have you ever thought about boarding school?

Random? Yes. Worth looking into? Also yes.
I don’t know how much your family makes, but if your family makes $75,000 or less, Exeter is free.

Thanks for the post. . . I know that they have good summer programs, too! Maybe I’ll check in to those.

Yes, you’re right it is a little to early to know precisely where I will go.
Though, I’m simply asking for a place that matches my current interests and prospects.

Coming from Iowa, I don’t realy know all that the rest of the US has to offer. There may be some great colleges out there that I’ve never even heard of or that I wouldn’t otherwise even think of going to.

It’s never too early to start looking, and I just want to be prepared.

Open my eyes to possiblities CC!

Thanks.
