<p>I think it is wonderful that people take the time to try to chance others but as a parent of 2 college freshman I have found that very little is clear cut. I have an OOS student at UNC and last year on these boards they said he needed to come up 100 pts on his SAT to have a shot. He did not. He never asked to be chanced, I submitted his stats bc I wanted to know if he was being realistic. He was certain that UNC was the place for him and I guess that came across in his application. He only applied to 3 schools bc he know in his heart he was going to UNC. His safe school was UM because they were recruiting him for scholarship so he knew that he could always go there if he “had” to. The moral is to always apply to your dream school and put your heart into your application and things will turn out the way the are supposed to (whether you realize it or not.) Oh yeah, and having patience helps too!</p>
