I am trying to transfer into UC Berkeley from Michigan State University. I’m currently a sophomore so I would be entering as a junior, and I’m trying to transfer as a philosophy major, which is currently my major at MSU. My cumulative GPA is a 3.86 (I was formerly a physics major in my freshman year when I got some 3.5’s and two “pass” grades) but my GPA this last fall semester and in my philosophy classes only was a 4.0. I have pretty good AP scores, all 4s or 5s, and a 34 ACT. I also think my essays were of high quality and present my life circumstances well, and also make a solid case for my preparedness as a philosophy major.
However my extracurricular achievements may have been lackluster. Also I am white, monolingual and come from a high income family.
What are my odds at getting into UC Berkeley?
UCB will not consider your ACT score or AP scores. AP classes can help fulfill the transfer course requirements.
You will be accepted based on your UC transferable GPA, completion of all the transfer course requirements and your essays.

The UC’s do not give financial aid to out of stste students. Can you pay $65,000/year for two years?
Yeah
