What are "regionally accredited institutions"?

What are "regionally accredited institutions"?

Depends on the context. Most of what you’d call “traditional” two- and four-year schools are regionally accredited, which indicates that the curriculum and practices have been reviewed by outside personnel and held to a particular standard. There are (I believe) six regions around the country that handle the accreditation.

We won’t take transfer credits from a school that’s not regionally accredited.
