<p>Hello everyone, I've consistently heard people speaking of med schools in countries which don't speak english however the med program itself is in english. The problem is, I haven't been able to locate any of these other than Poznan University and Jagellonian Medical College in Poland. So if you could please list them here and anything else you want relating to the school such as the quality of the program, affordability, etc. etc. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much.</p>

<p>It’s a list of EU med schools which offer instruction in English. The list is somewhat dated, but it may be good place to start looking.</p>
<p>And you can try posting your questions at valuemd forum for foreign medical schools and see if you can get any current students or recent grad to reply. Some of the schools have fairly active boards.</p>

<p>I heard that kids who do not get into American Med. School, go to one in Ireland (for reason unknown to me) and they get into American residencies after. Apparently there is a good number of american med. student there.</p>
<p>It’s probably better to go to Ross/SGU over european schools, and a US MD or DO school above any other option definitely. You should definitely give these other options a shot first before packing up for overseas.</p>

I have tried valuemd also, however the problem is that it doesn’t seem to be very active as I have tried posting there before and waited weeks before a single post was even made on one of my threads. <p>@MiamiDAP: I read about that school recently, I think you are talking about Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. I have heard many good things about it, but also that its quite expensive for a Non-EU resident, possibly more expensive than a U.S. school without any loans or financial aid.</p>
<p>@mmmcdowe: I’m already an international (neither a citizen nor PR of the US) and well: (1) Non canadian internationals have <1% chance of acceptance into US med schools even if they attended a US undergrad. (2) Seeing as the chances are already low, it also makes the idea of attending an international medical school more appealing as you can enter straight out of high school without a BSc/BA and therefore possibly becoming a doctor in a shorter time span rather than having to go to an UG for at least 4 years. I also heard that European schools are in better standing of getting a residency in Canada (which I’m also interested in) than offshore medical schools however, I have no idea how much truth there is to that statement.</p>
<p>@mmmcdowe: I heard that many places look down on offshore med school graduates and that they would much rather legitimate Caribbean (or anywhere else) med school grads such as the University of the West Indies (UWI). So why is it that it would be more beneficial to attend SGU as opposed to UWI? I am not saying you’re wrong, just asking why it would be better to attend one of the big 4 (specifically SGU & Ross) over non-offshore Caribbean/European med schools.</p>
<p>I know quite a few Canadian kids who went directly from HS to St Andrews and other UK med schools. I have not heard any details lately about them coming back to North American to practice, but I think they usually plan for that.</p>
<p>I also have a couple of friends who went to France for med school in the 70s, I don’t recall why they chose that, but they seem to be having no issue practicing medicine.</p>
