Mock Trial (9-12, attorney)
Key club (9-12)
Art club (10-12)
Debate club (10-12; president; lots of work but didn't compete till 11th since it was started when I was in 10th)
NHS (11-12)

Job/Work Experience: near the end of sophomore year to present - server at restaurant (40 hrs per week incl. weekends)
Volunteer/Community service: Key Club, also at an arboretum 10-12 and a little in 9th (5 hr per week), also tutor (5 hrs per week (11-12), also nearby at a nationally ranked poor/dangerous city's food bank since I turned 16 (10 hrs per week)
Summer Activities:
food bank as above but more like 15 hours (summer before junior and before senior)
arboretum but 15 hours (summer before junior and before senior)

Essays: very good I think, about my mom (who passed away when I was 6), supporting my family although I'm the youngest, and how i love painting
Teacher Recommendation: very good I think
Counselor Rec: very good
Additional Rec: good
Interview:n/a
Other; fluent in Spanish (I'm not Latina)

State (if domestic applicant): Ohio
Country (if international applicant):n/a
School Type: public, average, not state/natl rank or anything
Ethnicity: white
Gender: female
Income Bracket: well, I made ~16,000 last year from serving and that's the only household income since my dad is retired and my 2 siblings don't work (my dad gets ~35,000 a yr from his pension but that doesn't count as income I don't think)
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): low income, have a single parent? idk

Also, I'm applying to Questbridge, but please answer assuming that I don't get in.
Finally, my strongest activity, working, and my second strongest, volunteering at a food back, didn't start until May of sophomore year because I had to be 16 to do them. Some like NHS and tutoring didn't start till 11th grade (at my school you have to be a junior for them). Will that hurt me since I have very weak activities in 9th and most of 10th grade?
If you want me to chance you or help you with anything, please leave a link to your thread :)

You have really good scores and gpa. A match would be Case Western which is also in Ohio. George Washington in DC is a match as well. Also a lot of liberal arts colleges. Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1690899-chances-at-mostly-liberal-arts-schools.html</a>.

Thanks! Case Western Reserve is an amazing school but I live 15 minutes away and I want to go to a college not as close. I’ll have to check out George Washington-- it’d be awesome to go to school in DC, especially because I want to major in Political Science. And, sure, I’ll chance you in a minute.

You could get in practically anywhere you wanted. Also consider Carnegie Mellon, Kent State and Ohio State. If you’re looking at PoliSci consider Emory. NYU and Chapel Hill. Chance me? P.S. Sorry about your mom

George Washington and American both look great, both in DC. also you sound good for Wesleyan!

PLease chance me! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1694433-should-i-ed-here-amazing-for-premeds-chance.html#latest</a></p>

Sorry this is so late- I’ve been so busy. @adamswright @premedprincess13 and thanks guys for responding. I’m definitely applying to OSU & Kent. I’ll look into CMU, American, Emory, NYU, Wesleyan, and Chapel Hill, especially NYU. :)

Also, thanks @adamswright for that

I personally think your stats are fantastic! GW and American are great options and try Georgetown too! Middlebury and Amherst are also great for someone with your interests! Chance back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1695135-chance-me-tufts-ed-i-will-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

Thanks for your input @conservativearts – being in DC and all, Georgetown has also been on my mind a lot. Do you know if most people are Catholic there? (While I have nothing against Catholics, I’d prefer a more religiously diverse school.)
And yeah I’ll chance you in a sec

What’s true about Georgetown, and all other northeastern schools with a Jesuit affiliation like BC, HC, PC, FU, etc… is that there is a strong Catholic population and services on site, but they’re easily avoidable and there are many religiously diverse people. Also, there is no animosity between Catholics and non-catholics

Thanks for responding so quickly. And that makes me feel a lot better-- I was afraid that there might be some sort of conflict @conservativearts
