What are some quick Writing/Reading tips?

<p>I'm taking the SAT again sometime in October and I have the latest blue book with 10 practice tests and I'm ready to attack them. I generally average a 770+ in math, but my reading and writing tend to be at the 600 mark. </p>

<p>What simple tips do you all have to get 580s (at worst) in both writing and reading to at least 650s? I'm pretty sure I could break 700 in writing, but regardless.</p>

<p>Don’t guess on a practice test, because if you get a question right you may overlook it when you go over the answers. If you are not 100% confident in a problem, make sure you go over it. When it comes to practice tests, it’s about learning the concepts, not about scoring as high as possible.</p>
