What are some semi-competitive colleges I could get in

Profile of my high school:
Trinity High School
private, Roman Catholic
One of the top performing high schools in Kentucky
Blue Ribbon School of Excellence
Known throughout Kentucky for being academically rigorous
There are 5 levels of class difficulty at Trinity:
-Traditional II -Traditional I -Academic (average) -Honors (above average) and -The Advanced Program (extremely above average, only 10% of students are accepted into the program)

My stats:
3.60/4 unweighted GPA
4.87/6 weighted GPA
92 out of 305 students
28 ACT
Freshman and sophomore year I was in all honors classes. Junior year I moved up to some advanced classes and did AP English Lang and Comp and AP Psychology. Senior year I am in all advanced level classes with 2 math classes (Statistics and Pre Cal), and 3 AP classes (Statistics, Human Geography, and English Lit and Comp.
Freshman year: Track
Sophomore and junior year: cross country, 25 hours a week working, volunteer tutor
Senior year: speech and debate team, 20 hours a week working, volunteer tutor

Also, should I apply early action to my top school choices or work hard first semester to raise my cumulative GPA and apply regular decision? My school sends a follow up mid year grade report to colleges, but I think I would already have received my EA decisions by then. I know early action increases your chances of getting accepted, but does it outweigh the benefits of a higher GPA? I could raise it to a 3.66 if I get a 4.0 this semester.
What are some semi-competitive colleges I could apply to? I really want to go to college in a big city like Chicago, Boston, or New York. I am looking at Fordham, what are some other good medium-large sized schools I could look into?
