What are some suggestions for Business Schools to transfer to

Note: This discussion is to benefit transfer students looking to attend Business School.

I am a community college student looking to apply to a really good business program. I have a 4.0 and lots of extracurriculars. I had an noncompetitive High School GPA and ACT. I love entrepreneurship.

Some Universities I am planning on applying to include University of Illinois-Campaign, UMich, Madison, USC, UPenn Wharton and Depaul.

I have lots of anxiety, so choosing which colleges to apply to has been really difficult. If you have any suggestions for extra colleges to apply to or anything to help me out with my decision, I would greatly appreciate it!

How much can your family afford? You have public Us from multiple states and won’t get aid from those if you’re out of state. Your HS info is required for Penn so that’s essentially a non-starter. UDayton is great at entrepreneurship but you have to be able to afford it.

Well, I would rather not go to a college that is expensive. From what I heard, USC is fairly generous with financial aid.

Could you give us a number on your EFC?

Most schools do not offer merit aid for transfer students, so do not expect much on that side.

Also, how many hours do you have? Many top schools require XXX amount of hours and no more than 60.

Take Penn off your list. They require ACT and high school transcript.

OOS publics will generally give you little to no financial/merit aid. I recommend an instate school. Which state do you live in?

Babson College is exactly what are looking for for your major.

Look first to your CC transfer advisor, they should be able to tell you about schools that the CC has articulation agreements with. Instate schools will be cheaper tuition most likely, and you might qualify for state grants.

I live in Chicago and will be coming out of my community college with 50-60 credits. I would like to transfer in as a junior.

For universities that ask about ACT and HS, would they like the progression made from HS to college? I had 3.3/4.0 and 24 ACT in HS.

Progression is good, but schools that consider HS info after 2 years in college are looking for long term consistence.
