Yale person ====> Yalie
Princeton person ======> Princetonian
Stanford person ======> __________?

Fuzzy?....

Stanfordite

I don't hear that term said out loud much though, it's usually just "Stanford student" or "Stanford kid"

maybe this is a Stanford only thing, I dunno, but at Stanford there are two general groups of people:"fuzzies" are all the art majors, drama majors, english majors, etc. and "techies" are all the engineering/sci/math people. I don't think there's a Stanford person term....let's go with this:
Stanford person = Tree
hahaha...jk.

Some people say Stanfordites, others say Stanfordians. I use both, take your pick :-)

Throughout this process I've affectionately nicknamed Stanford, "Stany Stan." It rolls off the tongue quite nicely lol.

isn't it

cardinals?

no, because just as Harvard is "the Crimson" we are "the Cardinal"... it is not a noun with a plural, but a color.

yeah but thats different...

how about stanfies? I like it:p

stanfordite like hermaphidite?

The Farm --> farmers?

why is stanford known as "The Farm?"

We are definitely Cardinals.

Stanford is known as "The Farm" because it was built on Mr. and Mrs. Stanford's farmland. Officially, Stanford's land consists of over 8000 acres, and about 5000 of those acres are in Santa Clara County, where Palo Alto is. 1,160 of those acres are in Palo Alto. Most of Stanford is still undeveloped - I think about 2/3 is just the beautiful foothills or has some light construction. The gorgeous campus itself is simply the tip of the iceberg.
