What are the average SSAT scores for top boarding schools?

What is the typical minimum SSAT score at one of the Big Ten Boarding Schools?

Do you mean the average ssat? Or the minimum you need to get in? The averages at some of the “name” schools are around 90-93%. Since that’s an average you can have lower scores and comfortably get in. You can also have higher scores and be flat out rejected. All those schools reject MANY applicants with perfect ssat scores every single year. That is not my speculation, that is out of the mouth of a very well respected head of admissions.

I know that BoardingSchoolReview shows average BS scores, and TestInnovators has a target scores page.
For the “top” BS’s, people usually say to shoot for >80%. I’ve heard that anything above 85% is good, or that anything above 92% is good.
When I went to an Exeter event a few weeks back, the speaker said to not worry about scores if they’re mid-80s-90s. Idk if he was only saying that to comfort us, though.
Obviously, there’s no literal minimum.

Remember though, for every 65%, they accept a 99% so the “average” might not tell the whole story. The higher the number the fewer low scores they can accept. If the score is very high, it’s likely you’ll have to be in the range wiithout much wiggle room. There’s a lot of wiggle room at 70-80%.

Also, do you think these schools would like to see scores on SAT Subject Tests and AP’s if you have already done them?
