What are the benefits of taking AP English Language AND AP English Literature?

Okay so after researched the colleges I want to go to and their credit they give to AP courses I found that most give the same course exemption and credit from either AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature. By this I mean like this :

English
b**

- Language/Composition
Score:
4-5

College Credit Course Name:
ENGCOMP 3

Units
8.0

Requirements Met:
EW, W1

** - Literature/Composition**
Score:
4-5

College Credit Course Name:
ENGCOMP 3

Units
8.0

Requirements Met:
EW, W1

**So as you can see, this college (UCLA) counts both AP Englishes as the same thing!

I already took AP English Language and Composition but should I even bother to take AP English Literature next year???**

Pretty much just take it to get the weighted average boost, but credit-wise I don’t think it makes too much of a difference.

There’s a large majority of students who take AP’s for reasons other than college credit being at the top of the list.

The content, in depth of each of the courses, is vastly different and comprehensive which develops college leveled reading and writing skills required for EVERY college class/life.

AP Lang deals with rhetorical/non fiction writing (google: rhetorical framework)

AP Lit deals in well… uhh Literature.

Go to the CB page and look up both exams, both are well worth taking for the experience of being in the class. Rather than college credit.

Besides, many schools only take Lit for the freshmen requirements and lang only gives a partial/elective.
