What are the best colleges to transfer to in New England?

I am currently a freshman at a small private college in Massachusetts and am considering transferring. I do not find the classes challenging at all and there is a huge lack of a social scene. I am planning on majoring in History with a concentration in Elementary Education. I want to study abroad in England during my spring semester of Sophomore year, also.
I am looking for a college with a good academic reputation and a decent social scene. I would love living in Boston, but it is not a huge bummer if I do not transfer to a school in the city.

Schools that I initially applied to were: UVM, UMass Amherst, BC, BU, Emmanuel, and Lesley. (Those however are not the only schools that I would consider transferring too) I chose the school I am currently at based on the large academic scholarship I received.

Any transfer advice, information, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! =)

No love for Northeastern? It’s moving on up!

Harvard is the best college to transfer to in New England.

Now the best college for you to transfer (or apply) to may be different. What are your stats?

It’s not exactly New England, but Union College in Schenectady?

I currently have a 3.7 GPA in college (not entirely happy with this GPA. I am certain my GPA this Spring Semester will be much better.)
I graduated in the top 10% of my high school class, with a 3.8 GPA, took 6 AP courses and did fairly well on my standarized tests.

I understand, being a transfer student, that it will be difficult transferring to a more competitive institution. Top universities are extremely selective with the students that they permit to transfer.
