Well I'm UK student doing a year at UC next year and have to choose 3 campuses.
We party pretty hard over here and I was kinda shocked to see most of your Uni's only really party on weekends???
So just wondering which Uni has the best balance??
UCSB is my first choice but dunno about 2nd and third.
I kinda ruled UCB and UCLA out because I heard they're really work intensive.
I had UCSD as 2nd choice and UCD as third but I read somewhere on this forum that UCSD is pure work and minimal partying.
UCD sounds kinda cool...
But still not really sure what to choose.
I really hope I get UCSB but everyone's applying there so wanna make sure if i don't get it that my second or third choices are still fun.
Thoughts???

seems like you’re not looking for a balance of work and party; just party. I would have said UCLA or Berkeley because there are frat parties all the time, and its academically intensive. but it seems like you only want the partying, so UCSB sounds like a good fit.

ucsd isn’t a party school.
your best bet for second choice option is UCLA.
UCLA at least has the city where you can party at in hollywood or westside which generally has people from all over the world. I’ve usually found/met more uk/european people in the westside bars/clubs.

third choice, is a toss up. i have no idea about the party scene at davis, irvine, etc.

It’s not that I only want partying, I just don’t want to be worked ridiculously hard to the point that I have no time to have fun,as I’m only there for a year and want to enjoy it as much as possible.
I was thinking of putting UCLA second but I’ve been told that you won’t be taken seriously if you put UCLA/UCB second choice, and that it’s equivalent to putting Oxbridge second when applying for Uni over here.
Obviously I do wanna have fun, but I don’t wanna go back to my own uni and have no idea what’s going on.
But thanks anyway, San Diego is definitely out.
Anybody know anything about UCSF or santa cruz???
Also I heard people on this forum saying you can’t get into parties unless you’re part of the frat??? Is that for real or are these people just not that “cool”???

UCSF is a graduate only campus.
