What are the best ways to find an apartment?

I'm wondering what sites or property managers people have used for their housing. My friends and I just realized we're a little behind in finding a place and are scrambling a bit. Thanks!

Try using www.cribspot.com to find a place. It was started by some former U of M students (actually know one of them- great guy) and really helped me. They also have a tab at the bottom you can chat with them to ask questions.

Walk around areas where you might like to live. Write down (take notes on your iphone) the phone numbers of apartments you might like to live at. That how I found my apartment. I’ve been happy.

You’re a little behind…Apartments can be put up for rent in Nov.

A lot of the good places close to campus have been leased out since October. There’s probably only a fair amount of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments left since those take longer to get rented. If you want a 4bd+ place you might be stuck kinda far away at this point. I would check out u towers though, the units aren’t as nice but they’re right on south u and I think they stay on the market a bit longer, not totally sure though.
