Hi~ I'm a sophomore at a well known public school in Southern California. Freshman year I got a 3.5 both semesters and first semester sophomore year I got a 3.2, my average unweighted GPA is a 3.3 and I believe my weighted gpa would be somewhere around a 3.4/3.5 (I took 2 AP's this yr)

Act: 32 Sat:1950
My extracurriculars include:
-Editor for school paper
-Active member of National Charity League
-President of 2 clubs
-Summer Camp Councilor
-Intern (this summer) at a marketing firm
-A prestigious and nationally recognized leadership program
-Varsity Swim

My top choices are: USC, Notre Dame, BC, BU, Penn State, Villanova, and Northwestern. Are any of these schools in my range?

-Also I have ADHD does that increase my chances anywhere?

the ADHD stuff will not increase your chances anywhere
they label almost every kid with that today
and i am almost positive the guy who “discovered” the disorder just recently said he made it up
in any case (real or not) having the disorder wouldnt increase your chance with any schools

good luck though!

I would advise that she submit the 32 ACT, as that is stronger than the 1950 SAT.

Assuming that you do submit the ACT, the weakest part of your application is your unweighted GPA. A 3.3 (assuming that is correct) is just above a B average, which is not enough for some of the schools that you listed. Lastly, you do have pretty good E.C.'s. They indicate leadership, and community service. What clubs are you president of, by chance? Colleges will look at what you lead, not just that you do lead. With all of that being said:

Northwestern: Reach
Notre Dame: Reach
USC: Reach
BC: Reach
BU: Low Reach
Penn State: Match
Villanova: High Match

Edit: I didn’t see that you were a sophomore. Get you unweighted GPA up to a 3.5, if possible. That will give you much better shots at Villanova and BU.

If you have the time, chance me back?
